Amanda King
Amanda now works in Brighton after previously having a studio in London. Since 1977, she has exhibited in Britain and France and her work can be found in galleries across the UK.
“My work is greatly influenced by my interest in ancient civilizations and their cultures. The basic forms have a strong linear quality which contrast starkly with the sculptural detail of each piece, statue, frieze and codexe drawn from the past. The pieces are made using a combination of mould-made forms and hand-building techniques. Each form has an inner and outer shell to allow physical perspectives within each piece”.
