Hazel Lale is a busy and successful Yorkshire based painter. With an eclectic mix of influences, Hazel’s pictures have won wide acceptance, and a number of public bodies have commissioned works on a large scale.
Since finishing her degree in Fine Art, she has exhibited in many one woman shows, nationally and locally. One highlight was when she was been invited to show alongside an established young fashion designer at the London Fashion Week at the Metropolitan Hotel in Park Lane, London. This is the first time that London Fashion Week has invited an artist to exhibit.
Hazel is attracted to themes which allow her to break free of outlines: it is not so much the subject but the light falling on a pattern, a gesture, a discordant colour and a memory which fits in with a fleeting image. Figurative work, flowers, street scenes, wildlife and landscapes allow her to play with colour and light and to express her emotional reaction to shape and moods.
