Victoria Stewart

Born in the Scottish town of Dumfries in 1976, Victoria has been a full time painter for six years. She loved art lessons- particularly drawing at school, but was really bitten by the painting bug when on a summer course in her teens. The tuition concentrated on painting in oils, and she was captivated, by the medium and the new world of textures it opened up. Victoria went on to study for a BSC Hon in Fashion and Textile design at the Scottish College of textiles in Scotland.

In 1999 Victoria moved to Birmingham to take up a position as a professional fashion designer. During this time she enjoyed regular travel, visiting suppliers and customers throughout the UK, Italy and the United States. These experiences and imagery collected from travelling are expressed in her work using intense acrylic colours, incorporating various focal points within forms, pattern and texture. During this time Victoria continued to paint as a hobby alongside her work as a fashion designer.

The Light

Victoria also takes her inspiration from the sky and its ever-changing colours and shapes. She incorporates the vibrant and textured features into her paintings through the use of thick brushes and acrylics.

Since turning professional, Victoria has enjoyed success across the globe, displaying her work in both galleries and private collections.

Working largely with wide edge canvas, Victoria accepts commissions to create pieces of any size and colour.
